2. 🚴Gwangjang Market (Site)

Gwangjang Market Food Tasting

Do you like trying local food when you travel? Gwangjang Market is one of the traditional markets where you can try all the different kinds of food! You can try Bindae-tteok, Maggoli, Yukhoe, and others. If you are interested in trying san-nakji, you can also try it at Gwangjang Market!

There is a reason why Korean eat Bindae-tteok and/or other pancakes when it rains. Do you know why?

The sound of frying Bindae-tteok and other pancakes makes the same sound as rain. So when we listen to the sound of rain, we think of the sound of frying Bindae-tteok. Other fried foods can also be thought of, but Bindae-tteok is the most famous one which is also good to have with Maggoli!

There is a free media art wall exhibition in Seoul. Did you know that? It is located at Gyeongbokgung station (line 3). If you are looking for an Instagramable spot, this can be the one for you! 4. Starbucks – Gyeongdong 1960
Are you a big fan of Starbucks which is collecting Starbucks City cups from all around the world? I found two special Starbucks for you!

Starbucks Gyeongdong 1960

The first one is Starbucks Gyeongdong 1960. It is located at Gyeongdong market, near Dongdaemun market.

Old Seoul can be seen in this area. Different than Gwangjang market, Gyeongdong market is quiet and keeps the old atmosphere. Starbucks Gyeongdong 1960 is reconstructed as an old movie theater so you can see that it has a different style from other Starbucks.

Address: 1036 Jegi-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul
Open Hour: 9:00 ~ 20:00

Different traditional markets in Korea have different characteristics. Tong-in Market and Gwangjang Market are included in our Weride e-bike tour, however, We recommend you visit all different kinds of markets. After visiting Starbucks Gyeongdong 1960, you can go shopping at Dongdaemun market as well!

5. Starbucks – Seoul Wave Art Center
Starbucks Seoul Wave Art Center is the second Starbucks to introduce. It is located on top of the Han gang (Han River). You can look at the riverside while you are staying at Starbucks using free wifi. Also, it is hard to do something near Han gang when it rains, but you can stay inside of the Starbucks!

In addition, Han gang (Han River) is one of Korea’s favorite spots for walking and cycling. You can also rent tenets and outdoor mats from the renting stores near Han gang. However, it won’t work if it rains. Startvbucks Seoul Wave Art Center will be one of your options if you would like to enjoy Han gang (Han river) under the rain!

Since the Starbucks Seoul Wave Art Center is floating on Han River, you can be relaxed at the Starbucks. As you can see from the picture above, you can also see Seoul N Tower from Starbucks!

Address: 145-35 Jamwon-ro, Seocho-gu, Seoul
Open Hour: 8:00 ~ 23:00

This spot is recommended for both sunny and rainy days! Hangang riverside is a good place for a picnic and/or riding a bicycle! If you need a bike rental, you can check our bike rental as well.

7. 🚴National Museum of Korean Contemporary History

Don’t worry if you are not interested in Korean history under the rain that much! I recommend you this place because it has a good observation deck where you can enjoy an awesome view of Gyeongbokgung from the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History’s observation deck. Especially on Wednesdays and Saturdays, they open until 8:00 pm so that you can also enjoy the night view of Gyeongbokgung Palace!
It is hard to see the night view of Gyeongbokgung Palace so it will be an awesome opportunity to see it!
It is hard to see the night view of Gyeongbokgung Palace since its night-time ticket is limited in certain seasons. When it is raining, the view may not be that great but you can stay in the building and check the new rainy view of Seoul.

Our tour sometimes goes into the building and shows you the view, but our tour pass by the building and introduces the Gwanghwamun Square and Gyeongbokgung Palace!

It doesn’t take long by the helpful e-bikes from KTO to GwangHwamun Square, but you may need to walk a bit on a rainy day!
